5 Indie Artists to Look for in 2015

Twenty One Pilots

For as long as I can remember I’ve always been the person who thrives on searching to find the latest unknown artist. I enjoyed being the person who could tell my friends about a great new band I found through Myspace – yes, Myspace – and watching as they slowly fell in love with said band. That being said, here are my top 5 indie artists to look for in 2015 that I’m sure you’ll love.

1. Jamie N Commons

Jamie Commons, who’s fresh off the “Into the Jungle,” Tour in support from New York natives, X Ambassadors, has gone into the studio to record his first full-length album.  The indie rocker from New Cross London mixes an old soul voice with a unique musicality that I haven’t heard in a long time. I can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve for the new record.

2. Sleep on it

Punk didn’t die; it just went pop with Chicago-based pop punk band, Sleep on It. The band is working on their second EP expected to debut in 2015. The 5-member band hailing from multiple cities has brought together their different personalities to form your new favorite band.

3. Twenty One Pilots

The indie techno duo, Twenty One Pilots, have not officially announced that they will be releasing a new album in 2015, but we all have our fingers crossed. The band coats deep and meaningful lyrics with a pop and upbeat music to make it fun and dance worthy.

4. State Champs

Pop punk rockers, State Champs have been in the studio working on their new album. The band who has seen recognition from the guitarist of 5 Seconds of Summer, Michael Clifford, will be putting out their sophomore album sometime in 2015.

5. All Time Low

All Time Low is a four-part pop rock band from Baltimore, Maryland. They’re currently working on their 6th full-length record. The band that derives their sound from late 90’s and early 2000’s Blink-182 and New Found Glory, has been working on the album since late 2012 after the release of their previous album, Don’t Panic.

There you have it, my top 5 indie artists to look for in 2015. Here’s hoping these new favorites have inspired you to check out some unknown artists for your own music library!
