Fashionistas and style mavens across the pond are filled with anticipation and excitement as London prepares its exhibition for Spring Fashion Week 2015. London Fashion Week kicks off February 26th.
The London premiere is especially anticipated as the winter draws to a close, and designers are sure to draw inspiration not only from bygone eras, but some may be looking towards the future with sleek, cerebral designs. Celebs are sure to be waiting with bated breath for the sure to be iconoclastic array of designer wear. Many of the most sought after designers will be streaming live, so fashionistas won’t miss a minute of the must see collections.
Some of the exhibitions include old favorites like House of Holland, Vivienne Westwood, Jasper Conran and Topshop. However, there have been upstarts that have launched some incredible lines, with enigmatic spins on oft-used silhouettes from the likes of Ryan Lo and Faustine Steinmetz. Expect the exceptional as designers Bora Aksu and Eudon Choi are set to make an appearance on the runways.
We can also look forward to the cool, crisp lines with a hint of elegant sophistication that has become synonymous with Temperley London’s fashion. And it’s beginning to look at lot like spring with the design house of Antonio Berardi, whose pieces have graced the drool worthy bodies of actresses like Amy Adams, Lupita Nyong’o, and Rosie Huntington.
We’re sure to see favorites like Teatum Jones, whose use of folds and pleats often bring to mind the days of Grecian spectacle and pageantry. Her ready-to-wear collection last season garnered lots of attention with its emphasis on subtle colors, geometrics, and the softer, more modern touch to the 40’s style pant suit. Her spring presentation will certainly set the social sphere abuzz and the glitterati will be waiting to take a chance at wearing her fresh creations.
This spring’s London fashion week will usher in not just the crème de la crème of glam being presented by the British Fashion Council, but some surprise appearances on the sidelines of some of our favorite celebs and artists as they get a front seat view of these coveted shows.
London Fashion week has become more than just a viewing of new couture; it now functions as its own red carpet event. Those in the spot light will come dressed to the nines, and fashion experts will be taking note of the variety of styles on display not just on the runway, but along it, as well. London Fashion Week will be a decadent treat, and fashionistas all over will be clamoring to be first to own some of these creations. Until then, go forth and be fashionable!
