Fans and music lovers are eagerly anticipating the release date for RiRi’s eighth album and the rumor mill has us all asking, “Could Rihanna’s new album drop during Grammy week?”

Rihanna kicked off 2015 with the release of her song FourFiveSeconds, featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney. It has received rave reviews and is already a number one hit in over 10 countries.

According to Necole Bitchie, Rihanna’s team and industry insiders have been dropping subtle hints about when #R8 will be officially released. On January 20th, the official Grammy twitter page posted a tweet with anchor emojis with the words “#Grammys 2.8.15”.

Shortly after, Rihanna’s long time backup dancer, Crystal Schaefer, tweeted to her followers “Who’s ready for R8?”.

Since the release of FourFiveSeconds, many have speculated about the timing of when #R8 will drop.

For starters, next month is Rihanna’s birthday (all the February babies stand up and cheer!), which could be one obvious reason. Another reason could be Rihanna wants to help turn up with the people at NBA All-Star weekend. According to various news sources, including the NY Post, the city of New York will shut down one of the busiest streets for a 45 minute concert on February 12th for a yet unnamed A-list performer. Let’s be honest, that could really only be for either Rihanna or her Roc Nation friends Beyonce and Jay Z, but of course we won’t know for sure until that weekend. We will keep you up to date with more news on Rihanna’s new album and any hot celebrity tea very soon.
