Being obsessed with makeup and pop culture, I’m always looking to celebrities to see what they’re doing with their makeup routines on and off the red carpet. Are they trying out bold colors? Or going more subtle? Smoky eyes and bright red lips? Or natural looks with just a hint of color? Here are my picks for perfect makeup and where you can steal the look!
Taylor shocked us all this year with her new album, 1989, and a brand new look. From the subtle good girl pink lipsticks to bold reds and a sharp cat eye, Taylor has told the world that she’s grown up, and is here to stay.
Zoe Saldana has to be one of my favorite actresses. Her role in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has me hooked, and I’m been obsessed with the magenta lipstick she’s been wearing. It complements her skin tone perfectly and brings out those chocolate-brown eyes.

Real-life Disney princess Lupita Nyong’o killed it in last years award season and continues to stun us with her bold makeup trends. She seems to enjoy a lot of metallic eye shadows and orange lipsticks – a look that I can definitely get behind.
Get the Look: We recommend Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Cream Eye Shadow in Anchors Away and Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick in Barely There.
Hayley Williams of the popular alternative band, Paramore, is no stranger to bold makeup trends. This year she took her style in a different direction–subtle makeup and bold hair. Chopping her long locks and dying them bright turquoise made a real statement at the Alternative Press Music Awards last summer, and she’s been rocking it ever since.
Emmy Rossum is no stranger to the fashion world making guest appearances on Lifetime’s Project Runway. She’s always trying different looks with her makeup, but one of my personal favorites is the smoky eye with a less intense nude lip color. We’ll be sure to keep our eye on her for new trends.
Get the Look: We recommend The Present by Scott Barnes for Motives in Smokey Nights.
Is there a real person out there who doesn’t love Beyoncé? Queen Bey took control with her DIY video for 7/11, but we’re loving her dark cherry lip and smoky eye from award season. Once again she proves that she is on top.
Get the Look: We recommend LORAC Starry-Eyed Baked Eye Shadow Trio in Evening Star and CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Intense in Lip Colour #98, Coromandel.
Kristen Stewart is often looked down upon for her role in the teen love saga, Twilight, but we’re obsessed with her look as of late. She’s lost the black and grey smoky eye and gone for a way more natural look. More power to you, K-Stew. You keep doing you.
Get the Look: We recommend CoverBlend Concealing Treatment Makeup SPF 20.
Hollywood’s sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence has been hitting up the red carpet for the Hunger Games series and has been keeping her perfect makeup on the down low. Her dark eyeliner brings out the depth of her blue eyes and the nude lip doesn’t take away from her natural beauty. She’s another long-haired beauty that’s chopped her long locks for a short bob and has been rocking every minute of it.
Get the Look: We recommend Blinc Eyeliner in Black and The Present by Scott Barnes for Motives in Smokey Nights.
Oh, Anna! How I wish I could pull off your signature pink lip. Paired with a little eyeliner and mascara, she works the summer glow with a peachy skin tone perfectly.
Get the Look: We recommend theBalm Schwing Liquid Eyeliner and CLARINS Joli Rouge (Long Wearing Moisturizing Lipstick) in Baby Pink.
Nicki Minaj has been known to take drastic chances with her look. Recently, she made an even bigger statement by toning it down with a more mature look. She’s often been seen with a black cat eye, long lashes, and a pink frosted lip. I’m a big fan of this look. Clean, simple and easy.
These celebs have found the perfect makeup looks that work for them. We’ve seen everything from the bold red lip to the classic nude and smoky eye. I can’t wait to see what new trends they come up with.
